Southwest Skies and Gardens Silver Wire Wrapped Necklace ~ Turquoise Blue Howlite Necklace with Keshi Pearl Flors and a Kumihimo Neck Cord

A large turquoise blue howlite teardrop is the backdrop of this elaborate statement necklace featuring an intricate silver wire bouquet adorned with shimmering keshi pearls adorned with tiny onyx round seed bead centers, further embellished with Chinese turquoise accents. Swirls and curves of sterling silver wire drape and intertwine throughout the necklace slider piece, which serves as the embellishment that tops the focal teardrop pendant. This piece is truly one of a kind, even to the swan neck clasp, which is further adorned with onyx, Chinese turquoise, and more keshi pearls. The necklace cord is one of my handcrafted kumihimo weave pieces. Every element of this necklace displays attention to detail.

The word keshi is Japanese for poppy, and the weave on the kumihimo cord is an ancient Japanese weaving technique that has become increasingly popular in modern jewelry designs.

Pendant Size: The width of the slider is about 1 3/4 wide, while the pendant piece is about 1 1/4 wide and 2 1/4 long, so this necklace is not dainty in size, although the details themselves give this one-of-a-kind piece a dainty, feminine look.
